![]() ![]() ![]() Antarctica would maintain this sound for one record beyond Blade Runner, and then came Soil Festivities which was far more experimental and brooding, sort of a hybrid between Beaubourg and Opera Sauvage. To some degree, they were a return to pre-'75 Heaven And Hell Vangelis, and often resemble his earlier, gentler works like L'Apocalypse des animaux or Entends-tu les chiens aboyer? (especially Opera Sauvage). The interesting thing about it is, it comes near the end of - for lack of a better term - his Opera Sauvage phase which started in '79 with that record and China, both of which sounded fairly radically different from his final output at RCA ( Spiral and Beaubourg). I was thinking about his Blade Runner soundtrack earlier today.
